Stupid Government. . .

Time to ruffle more feathers . . . <rant>

All over the net I am seeing stuff about this new Illinois law. My initial thoughts are that I thought any business had the right to refuse you service. You show up with no shoes and no shirt. Get out. You show up with a gun at the casino. You’re looking for trouble. Right or wrong I believe that everyone should have a right to decide who they are going to let into their establishment. You’re under 21? Stay out of the bar. I have always believed that the best answer is to vote with your feet.

Now here comes the problem. This thing called the government got involved. Why does this need to be legislated? Oh I know the answer, because of ass hats like me. If someone didn’t want to make me a wedding cake dedicated to our Lord and Master Cthulhu and that the ceremony was being performed in the name of the flying spaghetti monster of Ragnarok 4. I would get pissed and turn it into a federal debate as well.

What should I do? Go ok thanks, and find someone who doesn’t care about the above. But no, that’s not the way people like me handle things. And why is that? Is it my upbringing? Is it that we are smarter than your average bear? Is it that we weren’t hugged enough as children? Is it that I’ve watched too many episodes of Star Trek and believe the world could be better?

I think it boils down to not feeling like you belong. Maybe it’s from High School. Maybe it’s from adoption. Maybe it’s from waking up on the wrong side of the bed. Whatever the reason it boils down to we want to be accepted no matter how big of a freak we are and to hear that you can’t have what you want because of who you are, what you believe, who you support, etc tends to cause a righteous rage.

The other problem is that I don’t think the majority of people will understand this because they’re all made out of ticky tacky and they all look just the same. If you don’t agree with a place it’s simple DON’T SHOP THERE.

But I have to wonder if some pagan ran bakery refused to make a cake for a “Christian” couple what would happen.

In the end I think that everyone should just shut up and sit down. Quit feeling like the government has to get involved. Cause more laws are not a good thing. The world just needs to follow the advice of the great future prophets named Bill and Ted. If everyone would just be excellent to each other we wouldn’t have these issues.</rant>
